What it costs
Academy Membership is £10 a month.
In euros it is €12, and in dollars $13.
That figure is deliberately low, and it is worth saying why, because it is not an accident and it is not indecision.
The minimum is set at the point where money stops being the thing that decides whether someone can come in. It stays there because a number of members choose to give well above it, and at our size that is what holds the door where it is. That is simply how the Academy is funded. It is not an appeal.
So if you pay the minimum, you are paying the price. It is what most members pay and it is what the price is for.
Paying more never opens more. There is no level above this one. Nothing is held back for people who give more, and nothing further in is lit differently. Anything above the membership is a gift towards keeping the door where it is, and it buys the person giving it precisely nothing else. That is deliberate too.
Academy Membership
Whatever amount you set is charged every month. This is a monthly membership, so if you set it to £25 you will be charged £25 next month, and the month after, until you change it or cancel. It is not a one-off.
If a one-off is what you meant, that is a different door: give once here. A one-off gift does not open Academy access and has nothing to do with membership.
The Academy
Most Christian teaching hands you an account of somebody else’s encounter with God and then leaves you holding it. You can admire it. You can believe it happened. You still have not been anywhere.
The Academy exists for the other thing. Not hear about my experience with God, but come and go there yourself.
It is a community of people who want biblically-based, experiential Christianity and are willing to be trained into it. The material goes a long way out in what it opens up, and it is delivered step by step, in the order a person can actually walk it. Nobody here is being asked to have arrived already. The ethos, from the beginning, has been: it is for you too.
What is inside
Membership opens the full course library, the live sessions, and whichever module the community is working through when you arrive.
some of The courses available
- Start Here — how the place works and how to find your way around it.
- Meditation Revisited — a step on from the Meditation Course
- Meditation — meeting God in the scriptures themselves. Not study, and not declaration, but the text as a place you go and something you meet there.
- Engaging the Faces of YHWH — learning to come to God as He actually presents Himself, rather than to the single flattened idea of Him most of us were handed.
- Voices — recognising which voice is speaking in you, where it came from, and how to be free of the ones that were never yours.
- Tones and Groans — praying and listening below the level of words, where groaning does what language cannot.
- Angels Ascending — becoming familiar with angelic activity, engaging and being aware.
- Dreams — a basic framework for beginning to understand dreams.
- Questions and Growth — session where questions and answers are explored.
The live side
Live online sessions with Paul and with the community, and the module currently running, which you join at whatever point you arrive.
How it runs
Live modules run in four-week blocks. Inside a block there is material to work through at your own pace, live video sessions with me and with the community, and small groups online. Live sessions are announced as they are confirmed rather than fixed to a slot in the week, so you get word of each one in advance and come to the ones you can.
You are not late. There is no start date to have missed. A block is always running, and when you join you drop into the one that is running now, wherever it has got to. Nobody waits for the next intake, because there is no intake. The courses sit alongside the live blocks and are there from the day you arrive, in whatever order you want to walk them.
When you join
You are in straight away. The community section opens immediately, along with the courses, the coaching material and the videos, and you can start wherever you want to start.
Live meetings are announced as they are confirmed. You will get word of each one in advance, and you are welcome at any of them. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing you have to attend.
Nothing is expected of you on day one.
No lock-in
Membership is monthly. There is no annual commitment and no minimum term, and you can cancel any time from inside your account. That applies whatever amount you are paying. If you leave, you leave. Nobody will chase you.
Questions
Do I need to know what I am doing?
No. Nearly everyone arrives having read about this and never done it. That is the normal starting point, not the exception.
Have I missed the start?
No. A block is always running and you join the one that is running. There is no intake and no waiting list.
What if I fall behind?
There is nothing to fall behind. The material is yours to work at your own pace, and the live sessions are open whether or not you have kept up with anything.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your account. Monthly, no minimum term.
Is this instead of church?
[PAUL: you get asked this. I would rather have your answer than write one.]
[PAUL: two or three more, in the words people actually use when they ask you.] — add each as one more <details class=”sr-faq-item”> block above, in the same shape as the five already here. No other change needed.
